Day 8 – Featuring David Redish
How we make decisions – implications beyond the neuroscience
Dr. David Redish is a poet, playwright, and scientist. He was trained in computational, theoretical, and experimental neuroscience and has contributed to our understanding of decision-making and cognition.
Most recently, Dr. Redish has been a leader in the new field of computational psychiatry which builds on an understanding of how systems producing behavior run into trouble and produce disorders to redefine psychiatric paradigms.
He is the author of over a hundred papers and three books, including the popular science book The Mind within the Brain: How we make decisions and how those decisions go wrong (Oxford Univ Press 2013). He is currently a Distinguished McKnight Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota.
